Lotus Birth
Lotus Birth is when you leave your baby's placenta attached until it falls off on its own. It usually takes 3 to 12 days for the placenta to separate naturally.
The placenta contains over 1/3 of the baby's remaining blood after birth, which is why it's important for your baby to receive the rest of their blood. Receiving the rest of their blood will reduce their chances of getting jaundice, sickle cell, and more.

You will need to keep the placenta, the cord and the baby's belly button completely dry until the cord dis-attach naturally. After, you will still need to keep the belly button dry & sponge bath until the stub is healed.

For a lotus birth, you will need an approved placenta bag, strainer bowl, or steel bowl.
Place burp cloth or similar cloth inside of the bowl if you'd like, place fine herbs in the bowl, place the placenta inside and submerge it with the rest of the finely ground herbs.
Rosemary, yarrow, lavender, roses, chamomile, nettle, and or thyme. You can also research further herbs to use.

After the lotus birth falls off, you will want to bury the placenta, burn it and/or feed it to animal(s).
